Thor

I woke up on Friday morning at 3:30am with a strong contraction, then nothing... Nothing at all.. I finally fell back to sleep at about 6:30am.. Then at about 9am I woke up for the day. Nick was an hour away on a job site. I was SORE. My back was killing me, my lower abdomen was killing me, felt like I was on my girly time of the month. It hurt.. I texted Nick and told him to be ready that I might be asking him to come home.

About an hour an a half ish later contractions started. They were coming every 3-5 minutes and lasting 30-60 seconds long. I was consulting with a few friends, I was freaking out.... I called Nick bawling. I told him he needed to come home. He jumped in his car and came. I didnt want to be alone. It took him 45 minutes. He sat with me, we finished packing our overnight bags. Nick went and picked up my wonderful friend and two of her kids to watch my kids. We then left for the hospital. Contractions still consistent, I was 36 weeks 1 day along in my pregnancy. I wasnt ready for this, I knew it was a possibility, but so not ready. I cried, I cried a lot. I wasnt ready....

The night before I was at another friends house, as I left I had told her, this might be my last night out without a kid in my arms, we laughed.... HA

Upon arriving at the hospital, I changed into a gown, I got hooked up and they checked me. I wasnt dilated AT ALL, but the contractions were consistent, and strong. They had me walk the halls to see if anything would change... Nothing did... The nurse gave me a sandwich, you see through this pregnancy I had gestational diabetes, and I hadnt eaten since I woke up, it was now 2-2:30 at this point, and you need to eat every 3 hours.. I ate the sammie, got back into the hospital bed, and she checked me again, still NOTHING. They had me pee in a cup to see if I had a bladder infection, if that may be causing the contractions.

Back into the bed I went as we waited for the results..

Then it happened, the coolest, weirdest, strangest, really awesome, thing happened. I heard and felt a pop. then GUSH, my water broke. I was freaking out. It was the first time it happened on its own. I looked at Nick and said, "I think my water just broke!" I pressed the call button, the nurse came in and I told her. She looked, and boy oh boy, it was happening. She said she was about to come in and send me home. She checked me... Still NOTHING! haha... When your water breaks, everytime the baby moves, or you have a contraction... water gushes out. Its warm, its kinda gross. All the water was about out of me, I wasnt progressing and little misters heart rate was dropping with every contraction, so they inserted a tube to pump water into me, to keep him comfortable... Which ended up making more of a mess... ha

We let me just progress on my own for a few hours, and by progress I mean, nothing really happened. The dr gave me a low dosage of pitocin. I finally got to 5 centimeters, and the contractions, MAN THEY WERE KILLING ME! Ive had pitocin before with no epidural, it didnt bother me so much, but those times my water wasnt broken. Im thinking my water being broken, and the pit, I couldnt handle it. I was in so much pain, flopping around like a fish out of water pain. I finally gave in after I wasnt progressing, I got the epidural, and about 45 minutes later I felt the urge to push, the nurse checked me, I was at an 8.... I texted my friend who was gonna take photos of the birth, she lives about 10 minutes from the hospital, I told the nurse again, no really I wanna push, she checked me again, it was about 1 minute after checking, and I was at a 10. I texted my friend again saying I was at a 10.... HA.... The nurses and drs were running around getting things ready... I had told the nurse that with my last I barely pushed and she was out. So they werent gonna do a test push this time.

They were set up, the Dr was ready, they couldnt see my contractions on the monitor... so they were trying to hook it up and look for them, I said, well I feel like I should push... they said go ahead and try. I took a breath and I pushed, I pushed hard, I leaned into that one push and he was out... Alaina, my friend taking pictures, wasnt there, she stepped into the room about 3 minutes later. I got to hold my little man, then they swept him away. They weighed him, measured him and checked his blood sugar level, remember when I said that I had gestational diabetes, well, my body was regulated his blood, and now that he was out, his levels could drop low... They did.. so I had to feed him, and check him every few hours to see how they were doing. My gestational diabetes, as far as we can tell by my levels is gone. I will be tested again in September.
My heart hurts and misses him in my tummy, he came to soon, this was most likely my last pregnancy.... :o(

Baby Shower- THOR

Ive heard the term baby boom a few times this year, and I agree 110% Just about EVERYONE I know is expecting, or knows 12 people expecting. A few of us are due within a few days to a few weeks of one another.
So when I found out I was having a little MISTER, I was stoked, but then thought, oh, that means with so many preggo friends, that I would most likely not get a shower. SO I went into party planning mode. I was gonna do it. I wanted to celebrate my boy! I have nothing in that department, girl clothing GALORE, boy... yeah not so much!!!
The morning of the shower I was calm as a clam. Just set everything up. I took my time eating breakfast, then I realized, Ive made none of the food, CRAP the cup cakes arent made, tables not set up, NICK, GO. TO. COSTCO!!! A friend came early to help set up, oh go hang the pin wheels in the tree.... WAIT, I NEVER FINISHED THEM! CRUD MUFFINS!  Here's some scissors and paper, oh and the string... Its like 95 degrees outside....Its an outdoor shower.....AHHHHHHHHHHH its 10:40 guests arrive at 11.... Im not showered, I smell like booty..... I was panicked.. My mom showed up at about 10. Little Mister, has a name

When Nick and I first got married he was stuck on the name Jase for a boy, though a cool name, I didnt like it, for my boy. Not long after Nicks cousin named her boy Jase! WOOHOO! That was out.

Then came the name Thornton.... OH MAN! Its Nicks grandfathers name, I DID. NOT. WANT. to name my kid Thornton, no way no how!!! I then agreed that if we had a boy we would use his grandfathers middle name Emerson... Well our next child was a girl and we were done with two kids.... so I thought..... So we made the name a little more feminine and added the y, Emersyn. Done. Then we got a suprise baby, our 3rd girl. Still got to avoid Thornton...

Then pregnancy number four, a boy.... Had to face Thornton, but by this point I had REALLY warmed up to the name, but just not THAT much. So I searched and searched, I read through hundreds of boy names. Then I saw it! It was perfect, fits our family. So his name is:

Gunnar Thornton

Ive been calling him Thor! I love it so much!

Gunnar is a male first name of Nordic origin (Gunnarr in Old Norse[1]) The name Gunnar means fighter, soldier, and attacker, but mostly is referred to by the Viking saying which means Brave and Bold warrior

Thornton is a male given name and surname derived from Old English, meaning "settlement walled by strong thorn hedges" or "thorny estate dweller"

So a brave bold warrior of thorny estates.... HA

I think its a good strong name, especially since he will have THREE older sisters who will be dressing him up like a princess.... :o)

Little Mister is a comin

A asks almost daily when her brother will be here. I tell her almost daily, that I dont know. He will come when he wants! SOOOO I made a paper chain.

Blue is how many days until Im 'full term'
Yellow is how many days until due date
Black is how many days until the end of 42 weeks

A ripped the first one off today, A and E will take turns, they love it! Im excited to watch it shrink!
(as of this post 29 days till full term, 50 days till due date, lets not talk about the black area....)

A was 11 days early, 38 weeks 2 days
E was the earliest at 36 weeks 5 days
P came 17days early 37 weeks 3 days

Do you have a guess of when Little Mister will be here?

His due date is July 4th,
(Though the last few times I was at the Dr she said July 3rd was in her computer... Who knows, they come when they want and its a guess anyhow....)

I think a little nesting has kicked in.. Ive washed his clothes through 3 months, his sheets and blankets are ready. My goal is to have it all ready by the first week of June. June 1st ideally.

Middle of the night blues

Last night Nick was awake.... Kinda.. We had been in bed, fast asleep for hours. It was roughly 1:30am, I looked over at him and he was just staring off into space, I asked him multiple times what on earth he was doing, to which I got the response of mumbles... After that I was awake... WIDE awake. So I came out to the living room to fall asleep to 27 dresses.. It typically works.. Last night, yeah, not so much.

So here is my mumbles.. It is Monday... Monday Mumbles sounds good..

I scrolled through Facebook, instagram, blogs.... Checked on orders Ive made, thought about crafting...

Then emotions just poured over me!

MAN!!! Being a 30 week preggo, woman, exhausted, up in the middle of the night.... You can only imagine!

Feeling pushed to the side, not important to those, you thought you were important to, having old friends, become better friends, but not wanting to be a debbie downer as they have so much joy in there lives right now, having even older friends come back into my life, ones who just gets you, who dont make you feel dumb, yet comes along side and cry when you cry and laugh when you laugh. Arent those who you wanna surround yourself with? God fearing people, who will support you, love you and be there in ups and downs.. Who though it maybe silly, will acknowledge your worries and your fears, who wont brush them off as being not so important... Why dont I put more into those friendships....?? My hear and mind are all over the place. Its ok though... God working on my heart! Im a mess.. arent we all.....

On another note, I had the privilege of meeting the sweetest most loved precious baby girl this past weekend! Just sayin!

My hubby is the best. (and pretty darn cute too!)
This past weekend we were in Lake arrowhead, we went on a hike... Not really a hike, but a trail, easy peasy so fun. Nick was teaching the girls to skip rocks... Which for them was just throwing rocks and sticks into the lake. They had more fun then I could ever imagine them having.. Penelope would throw a rock in the water, then 'jump' (her jumping is the funniest thing) and she would yell "I DID IT!" while clapping! I loved it so much! we continued on the trail for a bit and then heading back toward the car. My Inlaws were ahead of me, Nick and Nellie were behind me, the other 2 were running in between the 2, we were maybe 20 feet from the pavement. I slipped, fell on my bum, twisted my ankle. terrible! These old men came running up, asking if I needed help. I politely said no, but they kept insisting, I said that my hubby is not far behind, Id like to sit here and wait. They continued asking if I was ok, I then burst into pathetic embarrassing tears. My Inlaws were there by then, my MIL yelled for Nick, who had stopped to let Penelope watch the dogs.
Nick came a running, he helped me up, supported me to the car, My foot hurt.. A marine came up, looked at my foot, he said he thought it would be ok, just ice it and it up. He was there with a church camp and has 5 kids of his own, he just so happened to be packing up his car next to ours at that time..
We got back to the cabin.. I stepped out of the car.... CRUD MUFFINS! I cant put weight on my foot.... The biggest problem.... The cabin... It was 80 (for real, not exaggerating... they were counted.. I meant to take a photo... forgot) steps steep down... My FIL had a cane.. I used it, Nicks arm around me.. finally getting down, nick helped so much with the kids, catering to my every need, bringing me food, eating dinner with me on the couch. Just full on loving on me! I loved it!
The next day we were leaving... 80 steps... UP! My foot was feeling sorta better, so I put my tennis shoes on and made my way up... took me awhile.. It hurt, my legs are soooo sore.. The side of my foot was/is bruised. my legs are killing me from walking on them funny... Today.. 2 days later, I can tell it will be just fine.. just need to rest it... not strain it.

Haven't posted in 3 months.

Some things happen to the computer, making it more difficult to post, which resulted in getting out of the routine of it. Making it so that when it was fixed, I just didnt want to do it.

Since my last post, my eldest daughter turned 5 and my middle turned 3.

My five year old is pretty amazing, she is smart, teaching herself to reading, catching on to things very quickly. She loves school and learning new things, but gets oh so frustrated when she doesnt grasp something right away. My hubby said today, 'I think she lives in a musical.' She is always singing, putting her stories and imaginary play into song. Its always such a wonderful joy to watch and listen, we often giggle silently as she is going on and on and on! She is very shy, she doesnt like new situations, or being around people she doesnt know. When going to birthday parties she has to stand right next to me holding my hand, until she can absorb everything going on around her, then she can get in and enjoy herself. Still pretty to herself and prefering to be in her own world, she does enjoy having friends around. As a big sister she is amazing, she loves her sisters dearly and cant wait for her newest sibling to arrive.

My 3 year old, oh man is she cute. She has the best personality, making me laugh every day. She has the most gorgeous hair, is tiny and just so petite.
At the same time she is getting to know her little attitude, and testing her boundaries, BIG TIME! She loves to say No to us. Its a joy......... Though at first, with her taking her time talking, I thought she was a bit slower than her sister... I know so bad. She is proving that to be wrong. she was absorbing everything. She watches intently while I teach her older sister, and catches on. Its so fun and rewarding to watch her learn. She is also oh so gross.. She eats anything in site, be it dirt stuff from between her toes. She is the one who could be in a white padded room and come out filthly head to toe. She is almost always the dirtiest child on the playground. She is also so loving and caring, she loves her sisters.

My 22 month old. She is a light. She is always smiling! She LOVES her belly button. always poking it and pulling at it, especially is she is focusing on something. Like story time, or when we are talking to her, or when she is watching a cartoon... She talks up a storm and can communicate just about anything she needs. As with her sisters, she is small and wearing a size or two smaller than her age. She looks like a Kewpie doll, I LOVE it and think its just oh so cute! She is definitely a lovie dovie, her hugs and kisses are the best.

We also found out the sex of our baby to be. a HE! We will have our first boy. We do have a name for him. The name will be shared at the baby shower.. At first we didn't share cuz we wanted to confirm his boyness. Then I just didn't want to, I wasn't sure which we would use for the first and the middle. Then I knew, and I just wanted to wait. NOW I'm afraid it will be relieved at the shower and everyone is going to hate it... Though I love his name, but kinda thinking about shortening his middle name... I have time.

Another big change is that we moved. We had been looking and just couldn't find anything that would fit our family perfectly. So we stopped looking, THEN while looking for someone else, IT popped up! The perfect home. Its bigger, a little outdated, but perfect. The yard.. Let me tell you, its perfect, and beautiful. Its big and the kids have TONS of room to run and play. Birds are always here, chirping and singing, we have wild bunnies that come and lots of lizards. God truly blessed us in this home!
