Hospital Visit.

**If your my Facebook friend you know all this, I didnt want to post on FB, I feel like posting on FB makes me look like I want all the attention, and Im looking for pity, and stuff, I d ont like it. BUT I was so stressed, I was hurting for my baby, I was super worried, I was scared. So I decided to post. I needed prayer, I needed support, and I thank each of you for that!
Now to the story.

This past Tuesday was eventful! To say the least!
Started out ok. Penelope had two projectile spit ups/vomits. They were white in color. It bothered me, but I was very concerned. I knew something was up though. Something wasnt right. Nick got home from work just after 5pm. I told him how I felt. I said that if I still felt that way in the morning that I would take her to the Dr.
I finished getting ready. Nelly and I were heading to my parents house to meet a friend half way so she could cut my hairs. I was so excited to get a new look!

Arriving at my parents house, Brandi was looking at Nelly, in her car seat. She witnessed Nelly spit up. No biggie, shorty after that was projectile green vomit, I ran over, Brandi was trying to tilt the carseat as I was trying so hard to unbuckle her. She was choking, then she wasnt breathing, I got her out and turned her over and was hitting her back. She was coughing and ok.
Some of the fun stuff, it was all over the carseat and her clothing.
I started crying and decided to call my Dr. I apologized to Brandi as I didnt think my hairs were getting cut! (So sad, haha) The nurse on call instructed me to head to the ER. My dad and I loaded up my car, he sat in the back with Nellers to make sure she didnt vomit more, my mom was on her way to the hospital as well. Nick, poor guy wanted to be with us, but he was at home with the other 2.

The ER was PACKED! I had a lady tell me to get comfy, she had been there 4 hours. I thought, well my baby is only 8 days old they wont keep me waiting, and they didnt...Well not in the waiting room. We got into the room, and waited and waited and waited. A Dr. came in and asked a bunch of questions. Then we waited some more. My parents looked like they were gonna drop dead, they both go to bed fairly early and get up early to head to work. It was past 11pm at this point. I told them to go home, I would be fine. So they left. The Dr came in shortly after that. He said that green vomit was a concern, and they it could mean something was wrong with her GI something (He used lots of big words) he threw out a word that scared the bageebies out of me, SURGERY!

A couple of nurses came in. Set up an IV in Penelly's little hand, they put a catheter in her to get a sample they put a tube down her nose to her tummy for the dye. (My mom was on her way to my house, so Nick could come be with me. He missed all the fun stuff) They took blood, and made her cry.
They put that sock thing over the IV so baby cant play with it.

We headed off to radiology to take pictures of her insides to rule out all the scary stuff. It was kinda cool to watch the dye on the x-ray screen go into her tummy. After a ton of photos they said she was ok. The scary stuff was not an issue! YAY! BUT was was causing the vomiting. She was hooked up to saline, as she was able to eat.
We headed back to our room, and waited. Nick showed up shortly after. It was around 1am or so at this point. We waited and waited. The DR. came in. He said everything looked fine, BUT her Bili levels for the jaundice were VERY high. It was 23.3!! YIKES. 30 is brain damage.
They were gonna admit us to the hospital. I was FINALLY able to feed her! She was going under the lights.

Once admitted to CHOC everything is kinda boring. She was under the lights. I was EXHAUSTED. Nick went home. I pumped. A nurse tried to feed her with a bottle. I gave her permission. Nelly didnt like it and she gagged and threw everything up all over her! haha They drew her blood. after 6 hours her levels went down to 17.3!! So exciting. Dr.s were baffled by the green vomit, and couldnt figure out why. They kept coming in and looking at her. She got poked again 6 hours after the last one. he levels were 13.1!!! WOOHOO!!! She was taken off the lights. I thought we were going home! NOPE! They wanted to keep her another night to evaluate her because of the vomiting and because her levels were so high, I guess its odd for her age.

they velcroed the protective glasses to her face. It looked funny

I was awake again all night. Sharing a room with an 18 year old and her baby. She was NOT very considerate of me and my baby! They came in Thursday morning and took more blood from Nelly. I waited for those test results. I also waited and waited and waited for the pediatrician to come in and give to ok to go home. The results came. She dropped down to 12.5 on her own! YAY Still waited for the Dr. He finally came around 2pm. He gave the ok. Waited to be discharged and off we went!!! I missed my other girls so much.
We are home and happy.

Best place to be is in Daddies arms!
So the Dr.'s have no explanation for her vomiting. I think I do.
God! I really think He was trying to get my attention.
Take her to the Hospital.
See that her jaundice levels were so high.
Get her treated, before damage could be done.
I thank Him for protecting her.

Question for you: What has been your scariest mommy moment?

toes

Im loving my orange polish! ( I know I have sausage toes) that aside, I think the way my toes are shaped is normal, big toe being the tallest and going down at an angle. Nick thinks the normal way is the second toe being taller than the big toe. ( ill tell you when I get a pedi they always compliment my toes! HA) OK so what do you think?

Can you tell im bored at the hospital!!!

N is for.....Cont..

Nelly
A baby we have been waiting 37 weeks 3 days for.
A precious face awaiting to meet the world.
A little one who had two big sisters who will love her so!
A third little girl in our house hold.
A life filled with so much love already!

OR N is for.....

New Life!!!!
Miss Penelope Jean was born at 4:48 am!
I woke up Sunday May 29 EXHAUSTED, I felt so strange. I got a good 9 hours of sleep in. It took me nearly 3 hours to eat shower and get dressed. Our plan was to walk around the OC Market Place. By the time I was ready the Market Place would have been almost over. So we headed to the South Coast plaza.
We walked around there for about 3 hours. taking rests here and there. I was contracting, which wasnt abnormal. Ive had tons of Braxton hicks and was even in the hospital the day before (5/28) thinking I was in labor.
At the end of our walk we decided to have lunch at Wahoo's fish tacos. It was yummy. Headed across the massive bridge and mall to our car, Nick was hoping I would say, "LET'S GO TO THE HOSPITAL! ITS TIME!!!" NOPE I was even more exhausted. the 20 minutes home I had 6 contractions each lasting a minute or so. I was yet a believer! (It has happened before) Got home, I curled up in bed to sleep. they continued. I pulled out the contraction timer app on my phone, Oh POO! I think this is it!
I didnt want to tell Nick. He gets his hopes up way to easily, So I headed to my vanity sink sat on the floor and started removing pipes! The sink had been draining slowly and I wanted to see if there was hair stuck in there. HA! There was no hair. (Nick had to come in and loosen one pipe, it was on so tight) after that I was FULL of energy. I saw my huge excersize ball and thought that would be fun to bounce on! So I did for like 5 minutes. OUCH yeah I was in labor but contractions were getting stronger. I took a brief walk to see if that would stop them. I laid down. I tried different positions, nothing stopped them, so I called my Dr. BUSY TONE I called again after a few minutes yet again BUSY TONE! This happened a few times when I decided to just call Labor and Delivery at the hospital. They told me to come on in and they would get a hold of my Dr. (My friend Tina came and watched the girls until my sister came and picked them up)
At arrival, they check me, I was 5.5 cm dilated, WOAH! and my contractions were just getting stronger, lets say every 2 minutes lasting a minute long! WOW! So they hooked me up! I was admitted. I was gonna have a baby!
This time around I had Group B Strep, so I needed to go onto antibiotics ASAP and they needed at least 4 hours of it in!
So when my labor slowed down, we did nothing.
I got an epidural as Im scared of pain, and I dont mind it.
I got it at 7 cm.
My blood pressure went low, then high, I was on oxygen, I never slept. people coming in and out of the room, Nelly kept moving away from the monitor, so they had to keep moving it. internal monitors were placed
4:48 am May 30th came, They asked me to push, ONE PUSH she was almost out, they said, push again, I didnt finish the push and she was in my arms!!! I was SHOCKED 1.5 pushes. The Dr, and nurses all laughed at the expression on my face!

6 pounds 10 Ounces 18.5 inches of pure cuteness.

I held her close, skin to skin for 2 hours. She kept grunting, which I guess is a sign of fluid in the lungs. I breastfed her, SHES A PRO.

We got up to the recovery room. She was still grunting, my RN explained that she couldnt stay with me if that continued. (In the nursery there are nurses right there to watch over her, and know exactly what to do when she starts to cough stuff up) SO she was wheeled away, its been almost 7 hours at this point since Ive seen my angel! Nick has gone over and seen her, and Im able to, but I will cry. I cant hold her. She has coughed up mucus and old blood a couple of times. They are checking her blood sugar often.
So Im sitting here waiting for them to wheel her back in! Its kinda surreal, I had this baby in my arms and she has been gone for so long, like it was all a dream....

As I wrote the last sentence Penelope arrived back into my room! I cried as they wheeled her in! I was ECSTATIC! I fed her, I held her close! I was in LOVE! About 5pm as I finished feeding her she started choking she wasnt breathing, I flipped her over and started hitting her back, Nick pressed the button to get the Dr. in there, she started coughing, and Nick sucked the stuff out of her mouth. This meant they needed to take her away again. To the nursery she went. The RN told me that the night nurse in the nursery was the best they had, I felt a bit better. This nurse decided to pump her stomach, there was about an ounce of amniotic fluid in her tummy, (there was also some in her lungs) this is why she kept choking.
They suggested she stay in the nursery for the night, to keep a close eye on her, and they would bring her in when she needed to eat. I gladly gave her to them! Her not breathing and choking was the scariest moment of my life. (It happened once before)

The next morning she was doing great. I got to sleep some. At one point during the night I woke up to a nurse holding my finger, cleaning it with an alcohol wipe I asked her what she was doing, and she said she was doing some kind of test. Next think I knew she was pricking my finger. I went right back to sleep.

The rest of the day was great, she pooped a ton, and we were sent home that evening, we arrived home about 8pm, Anbo and Em arrived shortly after. The first night home went ok. I couldnt sleep without one of us being awake with her, so nick and I took turns through the night. (I was just afraid of her choking again, hormonal mom here!)

And today our first full day home, went really well. I took her to the Dr. to get check she went down to 5 lbs 15 oz. almost the 10% of her weight, her jaundice levels are up a little high, but not high enough to do treatment. I have to keep a close eye on her and keep her in indirect sun light. She gets checked again on Friday for her weight and jaundice.

So far she is a wonderful baby. Em seems to have a SLIGHT jealousy over her, and Anbo just adores her!

(We decided to keep her birth quiet, to not tell a soul until we were ready. Both set of our parents were not told until early afternoon, and friends werent told until that evening, Im glad we made that decision, as Nelly wasnt with us for so many hours and I didnt want to have to answer questions, or deal with people, thinking about her having problems made me cry!)

Tater Tot Tuesday (ish)

Im Linking up with ROCK A BOW's Toddler Talk Tuesday!

Boy oh Boy! This 3 1/2 year old of mine! She is something else! Kinda drive me nutso a lot of the time! I Love her to pieces but WOW!

Im trying to teach her not to say, mmmhmm or uh uh! That she needs to say yes or no. SOOOO When I use the grunting form of yes or no, she tells me "MOM You cant say that, you need to say YES OR NO!" She may be right, and I need to lead by example to this wee one, IT DRIVE ME NUTS when she correct me. I tell her, "Yes Anbo you are correct, I should say yes or no, BUT Im the mommy and you can not tell me what I can or can not do."

She enjoys telling Emersyn what to do, and tries to pull her around. Anbo is the little mommy! AHH

Anbo also loves to say, 'Im not happy anymore mommy', then she will do something like drink a cup of water, she will look at me and say, "OH Im happy now mom, I LOVE water!" GOOF!

I told Anbo that I was going to the dentist, and she got SOO Excited and said "Oh he is going to get Yellowpee (Penelope) Out today!" I had to explain that the dentist is a teeth dentist, and they wont be taking her out today! haha

Anberlyn's current favorite movie is Daddy Day Care. While watching it for the umpteenth time today, she looks at me, and says, "He is not a color like me!" I smiled and explained that there are lots of different colored people in the world, I went online and showed her. She looked at me very confused, and said "No mom, he is not coloring like me, I color in the coloring book." OOPS haha he was coloring a paper.......

As I sit here, cross legged on the couch, I look down at Emersyn, She wont stop licking my leg. starts at the ankle up to the knee. Then she looks at me with the biggest smile on her face!!! She is so odd, I keep moving her away and asking her to stop. Maybe she like the way the long prickly hairs feels on her tongue! hahaha

In the car, Anbo was talking. I had absolutely no idea what she was saying. I asking her, "What are you talking about?" She said," I didnt say anything." Then she said, " I said JACK!" Nick and I looked at each other and couldnt stop laughing! Neither of us say that, and have no idea where she got it from!

I gave Birth. This didnt get finished and is a day late! HA!

M is for.......

Modesty

I think Ive written about this before. But its dear to my heart.
Im a woman, I have {almost} three daughters.
Its my job as a mommy to guide my daughters.
To teach them to guard their brothers heart.
To guard their eyes.

Its SOOOO hard. The clothing they have out there, even for infants and toddlers!
REALLY they need to have bikinis!
There is absolutely no way I would ever buy that for my little one!
Ive heard, well they are just babies, I wouldnt let my teenager wear that,
well what are you training them to do?

(Tankinis are different, as long as the belly isnt showing, I dont care)

The dress' for little ones are low cut.
shorts are short.
Its so hard!

I was watching 'Little Couple' and the wife said, "They are making so many clothes for little kids that are worthy of being adult clothes, it makes me happy, but I dont know how appropriate it is for kids"

How cool would it be for our daughters to have so much respect for themselves, that they crave to be modest, that they crave to please our father in heaven. That they wanna keep something left to the imagination for their one day hubbies.

I LOVE when my hubby says, "Oh you cant wear that out unless you wear a sweater or an undershirt!" Sometimes I dont see it! He is protecting me! He LOVES ME! He is not controlling me.

This (jibberish, I have a really bad headache) post stemmed from a blog I read this morning. I REALLY want you to read it! :

"Tell her Mama!"

If you read the same post HERE she has added answers to a
twitter poll she did, just scroll to the bottome!!

Question for you:
Whats your favorite dessert?

Mine is Creme Brulee'!!

Random Ramble Rant Rave!

RRRR
SUPER!

Hmmmm
Im officially 37 weeks.
Im still grasping onto the fact that Im pregnant.
Still kinda dont believe it.
I dont think Im in denial.
Just busy, I have 2 others.
My middle isnt even a year and a half yet.
My MIDDLE!
WOW!

Across the room I see a box of Pampers NB diapers.
SO LITTLE!
To my right is the Rock n' Play.
She will be here soon.
Three will be tough.
BUT I can do it!
I have an AMAZING hubby!
He will be taking a week off work!

Ive decided, and hopefully I stick to this,
not to post on FB when I go into labor.
To wait, until Miss Penelope is in my arms.
Why?
Privacy... Less stress...
Not to here my cell going off every 3 minutes asking for an update.

Once she is here though, you all will know!
Ive been asked if I would like visitors.
OF COURSE!
I would love it!

Whether in the hospital, or in my home.
For the most part you are welcome.
Unless your a creeper stalker I do not know.
I really would appreciate if you do not come by!
Thanks!
Some say we look alike....
OH and warning would be nice!
more than a 10 minute warning.
give me a few hours notice.
I may not be dressed.
There may be poo diapers all over the place.
Might be stuff piled to the ceiling.
I might smell bad.

And I know, a new baby good excuse.
but decency isnt bad either.
Nick took today off work.
Its slow, and he didnt mind a four day weekend.
So we are gonna go play.
Thinking the beach.
A long walk.

Ive kinda been stuck inside.
My Dr. wanted me to take it easy, not do to much.
No early early baby.
BUT I can now!
Im gonna take advantage of it, before Im stuck with a newbie!

UGH!
Something that DRIVES ME INSANE!
PLEASE oh PLEASE dont reprimand my children,
when Im A FOOT away doing it myself.
If Im not in the room, or for some reason not paying attention
And my child is about to kill someone, or herself,
then by all means, please say something.
But NOT when Im there, already taking care of it!

My eldest daughter,
She is creepy.
ok not really....
well kinda..
She says weird things.
Does weird things...
and levitates!:
Kristen pointed out her concentration!

My whole little family is still sleeping, the back door is open.
No one is outside.
all I here is the morning birds chirping away.
nice morning crisp air!
WONDERFUL!
Im liking this.
maybe this is the calm before the Storm!
BABY today!?
HAHA
She can share a Birthday with my best buds hubby!
Add caption

Have I mentioned, we have a big field where I live.
Its pretty.
There are trees you can sit under, and a mass of grass the kids and run around and play in!
Its pretty coolio!
In the evening there are hundreds of bunny rabbits!
Anbo loves them.
I let her go out and 'try to catch one'
HA they are so fast. Its pretty cute though.
And when it gets dark....
There is a family of coyotes that come out to 'play with the bunnies'
A mommy, daddy and eight, yes EIGHT cubs!
kinda scary!
Bunny Hunting
Well this little Random Ranting Raving Ramble I think is long enough.
I think I have more to say.
BUT not really!
just kinda jibber jabble!

hmmm a question for you..
Whats your favorite movie?

Thanks for reading my Looney Tunesy ness!
